Welcome

The Provost of the University of Alberta put out a call for ideas in the development of a unique approach to the training of graduate students with the intention of provide an exceptional learning environment for high calibre students.

The MatCH program funded by the Provost at the University of Alberta, is a multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary program that encompasses basic science, clinical, epidemiology and health services research in the departments of Medical Genetics, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Women and Children’s Health Research Institute as part of the Medical Sciences Graduate Program.

Students will enter the program as a cohort and then be linked to a mentor of their choice through rotations in different research settings.  The degree of the student will be granted from the department of their mentor of choice.

This program will provide specific instruction and experience in bench to bedside science and provide the groundwork for multi-disciplinary approaches leading to opportunities for knowledge translation.
